White Card

If you work on construction sites, Australia’s national Work Health and Safety (WHS) laws require you to possess a White Card. This training delivers essential knowledge about construction activities, relevant WHS regulations, common on-site hazards, and practical methods to control associated risks. According to WHS legislation, every worker entering a construction site in Australia must complete general induction training known as “White Card training” and present proof of completion before commencing work.

This course is delivered over 1 day, face-to-face.

Course Content

  • Understand the legislative requirements for health and safety in construction work
  • Identify potential construction hazards and apply effective risk control measures
  • Follow health and safety communication and reporting procedures
  • Respond appropriately to incidents and emergencies on construction sites

Course Outcome

Upon successful completion, students will be issued a Statement of Attainment for the unit of competency CPCWHS1001 Work Safely in the Construction Industry, along with a White Card containing their photograph.

All students must be 16 years of age or older and are required to present photographic identification when attending their course (e.g. Australian Driver’s Licence, Passport, or Proof of Age Card). Students must also:

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

  • Enclosed safety footwear, long pants, and a long-sleeved hi-vis shirt are required.
  • Additional requirements will be confirmed at the time of booking.
  • Failure to wear appropriate PPE may prevent a student from completing the practical component of the training or assessment.

Regulatory Requirements

  • One Stop Training Solutions cardholders must renew their accreditation every 3 years.

Consideration for Future Employment in the Traffic Industry:

Although not mandatory for this course, a valid driver’s licence may be required for certain employment opportunities after completion. Prospective students should take this into account when planning their careers and enrolling in this program.
